Abstract

This study was carried out to investigate the effects of ethephon treatments on cutting of summer chrysanthemum for the forcing culture. The length of lateral shoot of mother plants tended to decrease as ethephon concentration increased and was shortest by three-time spray of 1,500ppm ethephon at interval of seven days right after cutting from mother plants. The number of lateral shoots was greatest and rosette ratio was least by three-time spray of 1,000ppm ethephon increased with seven day interval right after cutting from mother plants. As the concentration of ethephon, the earlier flowering was hastened. However, flowering date was not affected by spray method. The length of flower stalk was longest at 1,000ppm concentration.
